Description: This course is designed to introduce students to the skills needed in the use and comprehension of spoken and written standard Spanish. Emphasis is placed on the development of auditory and conversational skills, structure and grammar, and the history and culture of Hispanic peoples.

Description: This course is a continuation of Spanish I with further development and application of language skills. Emphasis on grammar and the development of reading and writing skills increases. The study of culture, history and geography continues.

 

365300CW Spanish III CP
1 Unit

Description: This course is a continuation of Spanish II. A variety of materials are used as a basis for the continued development of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Because major emphasis shifts to the enhancement of auditory comprehension and the development of speaking skills, a large portion of the class is taught in Spanish. Spanish and Latin American literature is introduced, and a study of the beliefs and cultures of the Hispanic countries enlarge the overall picture of Hispanic life. Participation in outside FLES (Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools) projects may be required. Students will also connect with other disciplines such as U.S. and World History, geography, art, and World Literature. Computer based instruction will be incorporated as technology permits.

 

365400HW Spanish IV H
1 Unit

Description: This course is a continuation of Spanish III. It goes deeper into communication skills and enables the student to become proficient in communication skills and cultural understandings needed in daily life in the Hispanic society. The class is mostly taught in Spanish.
