What is a Charter School?

A charter school is a public school created by educators, parents, or community members to fill a certain need in the community. In the case of Aiken Performing Arts Academy, we specialize in the performing arts, and like other public schools we are tuition free and accredited.

Registration/Scheduling

The registration process will begin in the spring of the year. The Master Schedule will be built based on the courses requested by the students with the approval of the counselor and parents.

In the event a student fails a class or is denied credit, we will automatically make the necessary adjustments, selecting from alternate classes.

If an APAA student needs to attend a summer school, permission must be granted by the director or her designee.

During the registration process, transcripts will be checked to make sure students are meeting the requirements for graduation. Students planning to enter a specific college should check for the requirements for entry into that college. In the event that specific classes must be scheduled to meet these requirements, we will make the adjustments if you let us know.
